I recently stayed at a guesthouse in Osaka that was simply exceptional. The location was fantastic, with two super cheap supermarkets just a stone's throw away, and the metro station nearby. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the rooms were beautifully themed and handmade by artists. The guesthouse also had a lovely little garden where you could relax and enjoy your morning tea. they were involved in many charitable activities, making it even more meaningful to stay there.
The occasional noise from the surrounding nightlife, but it was not a major issue.

The location was particularly good, within a close distance from Tsutenkaku Tower. A train station was close to place.

location: the hotel was short walk to many restaurant, public transport and a major train station, food, and grocery store close by. loved how the immaculately clean and well-designed room with breakfast included was arranged when we arrived.

The guesthouse provides free bikes to explore Osaka, and I had a hilarious adventure pedaling through the city like a modern-day Samurai on wheels.
Limited signage made it a bit tricky to find at first.

Tbh, had a lovely stay on vacation. Liked our immaculately clean and nice styled rooms, plus the staff was amiable. Units with comfortable bed. The location of the hotel was exceptionally nice and comfy - just a pleasant stroll away from Chausuyama burial mound. This property was in a calm area. The restaurant was not too far away from the hotel.

The garden at the hotel was like a serene oasis in the bustling city, providing a peaceful escape from the chaos of Osaka. Strolling through the garden felt like being in a tranquil painting, with colorful flowers and greenery surrounding me.
Shutter gates must be manually operated late at night.

The bed in the dormitory was incredibly comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud. It was so cozy, I didn't want to get out of bed in the morning. Plus, having a toaster and electric kettle in the kitchen area was a great bonus for making a quick breakfast!
Limited hot water for showers.

Free bikes, garden, and shared lounge. Yummy Asian breakfast. Close to Itami Airport. Bed in dormitory had a dining area. Had a great time in the terrace, garden, and library.
Oh, and let's not forget about the pleasant surprise of finding public parking for only JPY 1500 per day. How convenient!

I stayed at Kamagasaki Guest House for three nights during my trip to Japan. The concept of a guesthouse/community center was intriguing, and I was not disappointed. The staff were welcoming and the daily wake-up session and dinner allowed me to meet interesting travelers and locals. The house was tastefully decorated and the garden was absolutely stunning. The activities organized during the day were a great way to explore the area and learn about its history. The location, although not in the center of Osaka, was well connected to the subway line and had a 24-hour supermarket nearby. a unique and enriching experience.
I recommend this hotel.

Immaculately clean and well-equipped rooms luckily with aircon under such unbearable heat wave outside. Central location, approx 10-15 minutes' walk from an old neighbourhood.

The Good:
Close quarters.

The staff was super cool and made us feel right at home. The common areas were perfect for hanging out and meeting new people. We even had epic karaoke nights and made some amazing memories. Plus, the location was wicked, close to awesome nightlife spots.
The only thing we wished for was a better sound system in the common area. Don't get us wrong, the parties were banging, but a little more oomph in the music would've taken it to another level.

The entire place felt like an artistic masterpiece, with every corner adorned with handmade treasures. The different themed rooms added to the charm and made for an unforgettable experience.
Although Kamagasaki may have had a less-than-ideal reputation in the past, I didn't let it discourage me from exploring the area. In fact, I found it to be quite charming, with interesting places to eat and drink nearby.
